Ogulcan joined the Institute of International Shipping and Trade law in 2023 and is teaching IP in the Context of Creative Industries on the IISTL LLM programmes. Ogulcan also teaches on the undergraduate LLB Law programme. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Ogulcan holds a PhD in Law from the Queen Mary University of London. His research focuses on the theory and practice of copyright law in creative industries, particularly film, photography, visual arts, and fashion.
