During my year abroad I made lots of new friends from America and other countries around the world. At first it was difficult to adjust to a new culture, but I think this is something that everyone experiences. I quickly got used to the differences and came to love living in Texas.
Austin is a great city to live in with excellent views, an infamous live music scene, and lots of amazing sports events to attend. I was also able to visit other cities in Texas such as Houston and San Antonio, and at the end of my year, I flew to California and travelled back to Texas via Las Vegas, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico.
A year abroad is a life changing experience so if you have the opportunity to go, then definitely take it. I am so glad I did; I feel it has shaped me as a person and was a fantastic experience that I will never forget.
