Dr Ami Nisa is an autistic early career researcher.

She is currently research assistant on the “Autism from Menstruation to Menopause” Wellcome Trust Funded project within the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Life Science.

She completed an interdisciplinary PhD in Sociology and Film, examining the social construction of technology and theorising non-human agency in horror cinema. She is interested in how marginalised groups can be othered and conceptualised as non-human.
